Rotary International Seven Areas of Focus

Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution

Rotary works to create environments where peace can thrive. This involves promoting dialogue, understanding, and cooperation to prevent and resolve conflicts.

Disease Prevention and Treatment

Rotary aims to improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in underserved communities. Efforts include fighting diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria, providing medical training, and supporting health infrastructure development.

Supporting the Environment

Recognizing the importance of environmental sustainability, Rotary is committed to protecting and preserving the environment. Projects focus on reforestation, pollution control, sustainable farming practices, and promoting renewable energy sources.

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene

Rotary works to provide access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Projects focus on constructing wells, providing hygiene education, and developing infrastructure to ensure safe water supply and waste management, thus improving community health and reducing waterborne diseases.

Maternal and Child Health

Rotary strives to improve the health and well-being of mothers and children. Efforts include providing prenatal care, supporting immunization programs, educating on maternal health practices, and improving access to essential medical services for women and children.

Basic Education and Literacy

Rotary supports education projects that provide access to quality education for all. This includes building schools, providing educational materials, training teachers, and promoting adult literacy programs. Emphasis is placed on increasing literacy rates and educational opportunities, especially for girls and marginalized groups.

Community Economic Development

Rotary helps communities develop economically and sustainably. Projects include microfinance programs, vocational training, business development support, and initiatives that create employment opportunities. The goal is to empower communities to become self-sufficient and economically stable.
